Six months to go

I started mixing JC's Christmas CD last night (after a brief experience with his alarm system, that is....). Yesterday was June 25th. Six months to the DAY of Christmas, and I'm listening to Christmas music. And on a very warm and muggy evening at that.

Surreal..? You betchya! The tune I was working on was stuck in my head long after I called it a night, too.


A quick word on the passing of MJ: We've lost an absolutely legendary music talent. My condolences go out to his family, friends, fellow musicians, and of course, his fans. There probably won't be another of his calibre for a very long time.

Rest easy, MJ.

Another Chapter Finished

Tonight marks the last full night of recording on John's Christmas CD. Odds n ends, mostly. Greg's coming in to add a bit of percussion in a couplea spots that scream for it. Mixing to ensue in the following days.




Oh, and isn't 'viral marketing' a wonderfully deceitful concept...? ;)

Finished!

"Code Monkey" is in the bag and the final mastered mixes in the hands of its perpetrator. From what I gathered, hopefully in a month or so, I should be able to actually say who it was I was working for.

Code Monkey has entered the Mastering stage. As much as I normally don't like to master my own mixes, I'm making an exception this time 'round. Should be an interesting task to try and stay objective.

John Curran: We've officially started recording vocals as of last night. Two beauts in the can, with all hands pleased as punch. Grand!
