UPDATE TIME!

So, after the madness that was the month of July, and a much needed break from all things audio and St. John's for a couple of weeks, I'm happy to be back doing what I love to do.

As I'm typing this, I'm proofing the finished production master for the very-soon-to-be-released Masterless Men album. Sweet Jeebus, what a fine job we did!! Best MM album I've ever been a part of - and that's significant in my eyes. The previous offering, The Bramble and The Rose from a couple of years is considered the lads' best. I think we've crushed it convincingly.... But, I may be a little biased. I dunno.

Either way, expect this to be hitting store shelves shortly. I can't wait to start hearing it on the local airwaves.

This evening also has me returning to the studio to continue recording with the At Ship's End crowd. REALLY looking forward to getting back to this raucously fun group. We even have a special guest vocalist tonight: Mr. Matt Hornell! After hearing so many good things about him, I can't wait to work with him.

Onward!!

Cheers!

Holy crap, this thing hasn't biodegraded?

Impressive... I figured the half-life on these blog things was 6 months without an update. Good thing I'm wrong about certain aspects of this innerweb dealie.

So, a few things to update:

Tonight is the last night of recording on the new Masterless Men project. We've been at it since mid-April, and we're all overjoyed to be hitting the mixing stage. There were a few non-foreseeable delays - mostly illness. All hands are on the mend, and we're forging ahead.

Once that's done, I'm back to working with a group of talented musicians called "At Ship's End". These folks are NL's version of Dropkick or Flogging Molly. The comparison is apt and well deserved. Oodles of energy and talent. Looking forward to getting back at this one. Mucho fun to rock out at warp 9.

FINALLY been given the green light to try and resurrect the old HDR24/96 recorder that was damaged during Hurricane Igor (that dickbag owes me microphones and other things) along with 95% of the GBStudio. If I can revive it, I'll be able to snag very important files needed to finish Adam McG's loooooooong overdue project. I swear, this thing is my White Whale...

At MUN, we're a couple of days away from hosting a massive international conference and concert series. If you Google "ICTM 2011", you'll find out all about it. To find out about the concert series, check out www.soundshift.ca.

S'all for now. Cheers!
